“I believe _SocialStarters is perfectly suited to work with SME’s with a skilled workforce – or larger corporates looking to deliver a smaller but highly personalised CSR programme. 3 months in, I am confident that the mentoring programme and troubleshooter events provide real value to the social enterprises whilst being an engaging volunteering activity for our employees.”

When considering what organisation to work with for the 2nd year of our Force for Good programme I was keen to work with an organisation that could drive the programme forward and capitalise on the momentum and interest from within our business. Upon reaching out to Social Starters I was impressed with Andrea’s initial presentation in which she clearly conveyed the capacity within her team to deliver a tailored programme that met our needs. She then worked with us to flexibly build out a plan with clear rigour and precision behind the delivery model – this has allowed us to hit key milestones while being confident that sufficient training and reflection is embedded in the programme. I have an account manger who is incredibly responsive and gives me regular updates on our mentoring & Troubleshooter programme – there is also a willingness to support additional activities to support the programme.

We are the Delivery partners for Pernod Ricard UK’s Force For Good Impact Mentoring Programme & Troubleshooter events for 2018/19. Launched in August 2018 and will run for 9 months.
We have designed, recruited, set up and delivered a 9 month mentoring programme between 15 senior leaders and 15 early stage social entrepreneurs from London. This includes delivery of mentor training, tracking progress, mentor and mentee check ins, action learning sessions and troubleshooting. In addition we are project managing and facilitating 3 business challenge troubleshooter events with 100 staff and 15 social enterprises from Manchester and London.
In summer 2018 we were awarded a Scoping & Development grant to visit Brazil and conduct research into the needs of women social and creative entrepreneurs from favela and periphery communities in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo as part of the British Council’s DICE (Developing Inclusive and Creative Economies) programme. This resulted in our team visiting potential partners and conducting workshops and focus groups with our target beneficiaries (female social and creative entrepreneurs with ‘lived’ experience of the issues they aimed to tackle). Following that, with our in-country partners Asplande, we then devised a 15 month programme of support including 2 x six month incubators to take place from June 2019 in Rio de Janeiro which we will be launching in 2019.
